Cartridge Filter Cleaning, A new way

During COVID we released a product we called ZGEN.

By lowering the pH before the saline water travelled through the electrolytic cell, we were able to manufacture a product called HOCl (link to website). HOCl, or Hypochlorous Acid was approved to CDC requirements for Covid, and in many diversified industries as a disinfectant, sanitizer and general cleaning solution, in fact, at our offices now, this is the only product we use as a janitorial liquid.

Best of all, HOCl is 100% safe, natural, and environmentally friendly!

For the last decade or so we have been cleaning our pool and spa cartridge filters with All the usual “Filter Cleaners” and dealing with the excessive foaming and long rinse cycles, which took a long time and was very messy, Plus I was never quite sure that the product we were discarding was not harmful to us or to the environment.

In the beginning of ’23 our Lead Field tech decided he was going to see if HOCl would clean our filters. It made sense, as the “old” way was not as effective and required more work, and HOCl seemed to be a “miracle” cleaner. It made sense, as the “old” way was not effective and hard work, and HOCl seemed to be a “miracle” cleaner.

We were all amazed, not only did it cut down the time it took to get the filters way cleaner than they had ever been; but all he did was soak them in the solution and rinse them off.

Best of all, we knew that any pathogens had been completely eliminated, and they stayed cleaner a lot longer once we put them back into use.
