Not only did Washtenaw achieve Gold-level LEED certification but were also declared a Winner in the 2008 Innovative Architecture Design Awards. The 6,600 square foot natatorium features a co-ed whirlpool, a 25- yard, five-lane lap pool a 92-degree large activity /therapy pool. Greg Hanby, Executive Director, pointed out that the decision to go Salt Pure®, was made pretty much exclusively based on them seeking LEED certification. They wanted a pool with fewer chemicals added. “In a town with a lot of pools, we get a ton of favorable feedback that people love our pool. They like the fact that they don’t smell like chlorine, they love the fact that it physically feels better than a normal chlorine pool so for us it’s just been huge!” Greg Hanby, Executive Director Gold LEED Certification  A Winner in the 2008 Architecture Design Awards
